What are you asking Santa for this year that is horse related? A new muck fork? Trailer? A pony?

Sounds hokey, but just for my little guy to develop as he's supposed to. I know that a jillion people manage to raise horsey babies just fine and make all kinds of mistakes and it works out fine, but this is our first baby (although we bought his momma as a weanling), and he's my next dressage horse, and I just want him to make it through his first winter straight, healthy and sound of mind and body.

Although a new saddle, truck and trailer would be nice too!

ahhhh that's sweet. I'm sure your wee man will grow up beautifully. I'll send you positive energy.
Okay, in wonderful fantasy land, I want a dressage horse, fully equipped with tack, trailer, and a cute groom.
In real world, some great books, gloves as previously mentioned, and chocolate. Lots of chocolate.

The Equine Affaire (Massachusetts) is this week. I always pick up something to be my Chirstmas Present - usually some art by Sarah Richards. She's my favorite...

My students came with me to the Royal yesterday. One is twelve and is just starting her dressage journey. She was bent on finding a 'fancy whip' for her lessons. Of course, she had sixteen dollars to her name and everything was marked $30 and up. We were about to give up but found a black and gold whip for $12.50! With tax, she had 49 cents left over, but is the happiest kid in the world.

Horse-hearted, I can just imagine how happy and excited your student was! I remember buying my first halter, it was at the Royal, I was 8ish with 13 dollars. It was green, and for the pony I was leasing, the halter came to $12 and change. I walked out with a huge grin on my face biggrin

For Christmas, I want a proper pair of riding gloves! Those would be nice. (And an ipod to store all my videos and horsey pictures on)

For my birthday, I'm getting a proper pair of winter riding boots! No more freezing feet for me!

I'm not sure what I want...which sounds funny coming from a 16 year old! I honestly though am a little bit spoiled & have a very supportive mom, I just got a new trailer this year. We got a new truck last year, but we're looking at getting a new one. I have 11 horses. 3 saddles, quite a few bridles (everyday ones & show ones, english & western). Many many halters, lead ropes, saddle pads, blankets, etc.
I think all I want for christmas is for my mare to have her foal, she was due anytime between August and December, I just want her to have it soon and safely (she has heaves).
But since I do have to ask for something from my mom, I'm asking for some books, just on running a business and breeding, since I've decided to start breeding miniature horses.

I really want Heart of a Hoofbeat by Margerite Evans. I love all of her articles in the Canadian Horse Journal and Pacific and Prairie Horse Journal. It looks really interesting!

I could use a good pair of socks in my stockings, something warm to keep my toes warm while winter riding!

But I would rather have no gifts and get to spend more time with Senza this winter, I don't get to see her too often right now no However, I know I'll be seeing her soon and I know I'll be greeted with a warm whinny! I can't wait! I hope everyone has an amazing Christmas with their ponies! Warm bran mash for everyone!

More than anything this Christmas season, I want everyone to be able to enjoy time with their equine friends and their family. It's a rare gift that we have and take for granted, to spend time with our family and (those of us who are lucky enough) our equines. I've been "Horseless" for going on my 6th year now and although I've found many ways to keep myself in the horse world, it still gets kind of disheartening at times when you get that urge to just go out in the barn and get a big nose full of horse. Thus, this holiday season, I'm wishing the everyone will get to enjoy a little more quality time with the ones they love, and perhaps be able to spread the cheer around because of it.

BUT...
If I absolutely have to ask for something...
I already got it! :) A Breyer signed by The Canadian Olympic team from the Royal! This has been the best and most heartfelt gift I think I've ever gotten. No amount of Longhorns or Pessoas can top this gift. ;) Thanks, bff!
