I'm 16 years old and I run our horse farm, we breed miniature horses. I've been riding since I was very young, after having a few really bad falls, I started to ride a little less then I used to, after gaining back some confidence I started riding alot more, but I also got introduced to miniature horses and was hooked. For about the last 4 years my mini herd has been growing, I've done tons of showing with the minis and my full sized guys. I've took in some rescues over the past few years and then rehomed them. I was recently diagnosed with scoliosis so my riding days are limited until my back gets a little better.
My Herd: Bud - 13 year old appaloosa gelding. I've had him since he was born, he is my pride and joy, I love him to death, he is an amazing horse, despite his attitude and stubbornness...I've learned to deal with that part of him. Ginny - 15 year old thoroughbred mare. Absolutely gorgeous horse, amazing horse to ride, she's shown on trillium, she's an awesome jumper. Pearl - the one that started my addiction to minis, she was my first one. She's absolutely gorgeous. She's a wonderful girl, very sweet. Heime - such a loving little guy. He's such a character. He's the moodiest one in our barn...yes moodier than the mares. Everybody that meets Heime just loves him, he's so cute. He's only 29.5" tall but he's an awesome little jumper. Grace - gorgeous mare. She's such a sweetheart and such a character, she's afraid of everything. Sapphire- she's an absolutely stunning yearling filly. She loves people and is so curious of everything. Belle- very nice mare, she's a little shy but she's a sweetheart. Cheeky- she is a goof. That pretty much sums it up for her. Mike- Mike is by far one of the sweetest horses in the barn. He is dead quiet and he's a yearling stallion! Him and Heime are inseperateble. Monaghan- He's my newest one, he's a yearling stallion but will be gelded in the spring. He's going to be my driving horse in the future, he's gorgeous. Major- Major is my stallion, he's 4 years old and a total nut. He's gorgeous and he knows it (he's a homozygous buckskin pinto). He's such a character.
I tried to keep it short :), if you want more information on my horses or want to see pictures check out my website; www.hol-lorminiaturehorses.webs.com I'd love to hear what you think. :)
We have a lady at our barn who has scoliosis, she's 81 and rides two horses a day anyway, so I'm sure with technology the way it is now, you'll be back in the saddle, right as rain!
