Help! Saddle pad rubbing my horse's back after clipping!

I have just clipped my horse and now I notice that he is already getting rub marks form the saddle pad behind hte saddle and behind his shoulder!
Any ideas at all how to prevent this? Does anyone use baby powder?

To avoid this very situation, I do not clip under the saddle (learned the hard way). Baby powder works, so does ShowSheen but be sparing with it : )
