Hi everyone!
I've been a part of Barn Mice for almost a year now, I guess, but have been so busy with life in general and setting up our farm that I haven't had too many opportunities to visit.

Things have slowed down a bit in my life now, so thought I'd get involved with the community.  My husband and I have two horses - a Percheron and a Quarter Horse.  Both are geldings and middle-aged; our plan next year is to get my beginning rider husband comfortable on the Percheron so we can go out trail riding together.

I'm a Human Resources Advisor and a freelance writer.  In fact, I was just recently accepted as a writer for Suite 101 and have written an article on getting involved in equestrian activities if you can't afford a horse yet or just want to get some experience before committing to a purchase.  Please check it out and share it with your friends if you think it might help them!

Thanks & looking forward to talking with you all through the forums!
Becky

Thanks, guys! Ash, I love that Emerson quote - I use it on another forum that I'm a part of! :)

Becky - I'm kind of a sucker for early American poets. The ones that saw the real beauty of this country before it turned into.. well, what it is today. Walt Whitman is another favourite of mine ;)
