Closing Barn on Holidays

Does your barn shut down over the holidays or for holidays in general? How does your barn's routine change over holidays?

My yard (only 7 horses) does not close as my boarders are all from at least an hour away or are away at school and only home for the holidays. I choose not to shortchange their time with their joy : )

I can see how larger operations might want a peaceful day tho.

My barn stops lessons on Christmas day and boxing day. After that, in the mornings they have camps and in the evenings lessons go on as usual.

I understand being closed for lessons on Holidays but not to the boarders. Holidays give us a chance to be with our horses.
They don't close apartment buildings an seniors homes to visitors, I feel its the same thing.

Not only is our barn open throughout holidays to the few boarders we have but it's also open to the haul-ins who've negotiated access with me.

Most of my clients love to ride during the holidays, the weather's usually reasonable and they have time off from work.  That said, because our is a small boutique facility, there's no one here (or hauling in) who we're not happy to see at any time.  I might not feel so kindly in a large boarding barn...
