Jobs/post-secondary involveing animals?
Permalink Closed

So, start of my back-up plan(so I can apply to more than just one of two places)

What other jobs with animals (besides for vet, massage &chiro(since I need a vet licence to practise massage and chiro)) are out there? And what type of courses can I take for them post-secondary?

I heard something about behavior studies? But not sure what it entails/jobs.

I already know about many horse jobs, but I'm looking for others that are out there and hidden.

Personaly I would love to study acting for a few years, but right now not possible, as I cannot live without horses, and acting would, for the most part, leave me with little riding time.

In Canada you do not need a vet licence for massage and/or chiro. For massage check out the D'Al school in London. My horse chiro is a real people chiropractor and just does horses after hours and weekends. Chiropractor is a 4 year degree. There is also being a vet tech but I don't recommend this (many colleges have 2 or 3 year courses for this). You can get a degree in the US for horse management/training/breeding. There is always the feed industry. University of Guelph has BSc in Agriculture with different majors (poultry, dairy, beef, and more).

I was talking to someone in NL and they said in order to practice massage and chiro. in NL the law here states you need a practicing license(I think they can get around it by being a certified chiro/physio therapist for humans.). I think it's just something specific to my province.
