So, I'm baffled. I started my 6 year old gelding on Sinew-X about a month ago. It has greatly improved him joints (after an injury) and his movement. My issue is getting him to take it.
He's not this bad when I give him wormer, but when I come into his stall every morning he runs to the back and tries to hide so I can't put his halter on. It's weird because I've talked to other people who have given it to their horses and they just dump some in their feed bucket and they lap it right up! Could he just not like the taste? I've resorted to 'tricking him' by giving him a studmuffin first and then the Sinew-X, it has worked, but that's a pretty expensive way of doing it.
Any thoughts?

I am not familiar with this product, either. Is this supplement intended for longterm, indefinite use or only for a recovery period? I am not clear on whether you dress his grain with it or not but if not, might he eat it in his grain? A handful or two of a sweet feed or honey, applesauce, that sort of thing thrown in temporarily can help get the yucky stuff down "...spoonful of sugar....." : )
Another option tho perhaps farther down on the list would be to try a different brand of same supplement.
Good luck with this adventure. When the pones don't want to take their medicine, Life can get complicated. I sympathize!

I've used several of Omega Alpha's products, including Sinew-X, and I just drizzle it over their vitamins and alfalfa cubes. All our horses eat the products I've used thus far without complaint, even the Trakehner gelding who hates most everything else. I don't ever try to "daily dose" a horse with something which can be added to its feed, as they often become quite shy about letting us dose them. I try to save the oral syringe for dewormers and antibiotics, if I need them. Even Bute ours will eat just sprinkled on their feed. I have had two who would eat Apo-Sulfatrim tablets out of my hand!
What does your horse get for concentrates? It will probably take only a couple of mouthfuls of something he really loves with the Sinew-X added to convince him to eat it.
When I was trying to get Parafin oil in to Lorenzo, he wouldnt eat it mixed in to his feed and he kicked up such a fuss when trying to syringe it in to his mouth that he'd almost lift me off the ground.
So what I started doing was sucking molasses water up in to a large syringe then squirting it in to Lorenzo's mouth a few times a day for a couple of days - before a ride, after a ride, before feeds ec which he looooved. Soon he was LOOKING for the syringe. Then i started replacing every 2nd or 3rd syringe with parafin oil. He'd get a rude shock every now and then but he still thought it was worth the risk and even now we never have issues with worming/drenching etc.
It may be helping his joints, but what is it doing to your relationship?
Have you tried a supplement with high levels of Hyaluronic Acid? I have had great luck with these products (my 27 year old mare is still sound and giving lessons) and have had no problems getting horses to eat the powders in their feed.
Some are alfalfa meal based, others are sweet. This company makes great products but there are others on the market at well. Be sure to read the HA levels on the labels because some advertise HA but only have a sprinkle.
