Wheelbarrow Water Bag Thing?
Permalink Closed

Just wanted to share this link that I found for the H2GO Bag, curious to know what others think of it? Would you use it? Do you think it would hold up to stable life?

Reminds me of the foldable water containers for camping.

There was one time in which I was carrying water for 4 horses up a hill.  I would have loved to have that then!

I'd imagine it might be hard to keep bacteria from growing in it, but then it looked cheap enough so you could replace it regularly.

I can't believe anyone really uses one of those kind of wheelbarrows anymore!

Great... if planting trees/shrubs. I would think this might be handy for a landscaper moreso than ranch/herd manager. I wonder about the height, many water tanks are a bit higher that this WB would accomodate (what farm DOES use this model??). Plus, what about the water weight? Not sure it would be ALL that heavy but not sure *I* want to work that hard : ) I can see its practicality at some point for somebody tho, and the price can't be beat!!

MagsnMe -- LOL true! biggrin

Jackie -- Good point, like anything else that we fill with water and leave around horses, it will (soon than later) start to grow some film and/or algea that needs to be scrubbed out. If it were a smaller application, I could see rinsing it was salt.

We once lost the pipes in the barn and I had 37 horses to water, and yes the well was at the bottom of a hill. I borrowed a summergable sump pump from a neighbor (later bought one for around 50 bucks), hooked some hose to it, and lowered it into the well slowly (the pump was on), and it worked fairly well considering that it was tiny and had to put water up  a hill. So I can't say that an application like this would be handy around the barn, another way that I've moved water in a pinch (horse shows) is line a bucket or two with a clean garbage bag, put buckets in a wheelbarrow, fill them, tie the bags and haul the water without it splashing out (and the garbage bag can be used for, well, garbage later). So in that sense, something like this would be handy, and for the price you wouldn't cry if you forget it at the show.

I think it will be useful for somebody, like Justice said, this would be great for a landscaper perhaps? Or in a disaster kit?
