Let my 4 yr old Dressage Horse through the jump chute yesterday. He has done it once before - it really confused him last time and he tried to jump out of the chute.
This time - as soon as I brought him down to the chute he took of and had a blast running through it - He did it about 6 times.
It was so much fun watching him.

Good on you. I do it with mine too, she's jumper bred and has some over fences training. She loves it. It's a great break for them and does good things for their backs and brains!!!
I free jump my Canadian 2-3 times a month usually in the winter. It gives him a mental break as well as builds his canter skills and I get to assess his level of development. He loves it so much that I only put up the bare minimum of chute in the indoor. I start with trot cavaletti, adjust the striding for some canter cavaletti, then adjust again to a small gymnastic or two. He will never be able to make a living as a jumper (highest he is gone is 2'9") but he does enjoy it!
Oh, I WISH I could do that with Figaro! Unfortunately, due to a back injury that stopped his jumping career, it's out of the question. However, he CAN handle cavalletti rails and enjoys them, turning to the line eagerly.
Put up a teensy crossrail, though, and he says, "Uh-Uh"!
We "crosstrain" on trails, hillwork. Some time I want to take him on a cattle gather. I think he'd enjoy it. When the BO had a few cows on the place, I'd move them from corner to corner in their pasture -- trying to move them nice and slow, sometimes cutting one out from the bunch, then letting her back in. Figgy loved that stuff. Proof that Hanoverians can have a little "cow" in them!
