Who is Ready for Fall?

Are you guys ready for Fall? This is my favorite time of year for riding since the majority of the bugs, well, bug off and the horses seem to be more fresh and ready to work.

With all of the Fall fairs, I'm also reminded of great things like year-end awards if you belong to a riding club. Although the trees are just starting to turn in my area, soon enough the leaves will be vibrant with colour making for great scenery if you're a trail rider.

Yep, I'm ready for Fall! aww

I don't know that I am looking forward to what will follow, but it is sure nice to not be panting for air at 7 am.

And the cool air sure makes all the horses energetic.

I'm not exactly ready for the snow to fly either!

Autumn is lovely - the very best time to ride, everything is so beautiful ..but it passes so quickly - and SUDDENLY! it's winter.....and THAT passes all too slowly..
Someone once called winter "Nature's 'Make Work Project'" - and if you have a farm, that goes double!!

We had frost for the first time this morning - the horses wore blankets last night for the outside ones. I too love fall - not so hot to ride, hacks are great and I love wearing sweaters - just put the hot tub back up and enjoyed the night sky last night

I love the fall weather! Sunny, cool and no flies!

I must admit, I tend to slack off schooling in the fall. On the days I don't have lessons, it's always the same...I plan to hack for 20 minutes, then work for another 20. I end up out in the woods in a trance and I never get to the work part. I hear no complaints from my horse though!!

I am lacking a horse to ride this fall =(
But I love fall riding, clean air, and no worries about sweating to much!

I love the way the sunlight through the trees makes the leaves shine so warm and golden. The air is so wonderfully crisp, but the sun is still warm. Perfect riding weather. Unfortunately on the Wet Coast each rainy day that comes makes me hope that this isn't 'it'. We do tend to get 'sopped in' for a few months and it feels like the rain will never ever stop.
