Hi guys :) I have just joined Barnmice and since I'm a member of a few other horse forums on the internet and get a lot out of it, I thought I'd sign up here too!

My name's Jess, I'm 26 and I'm the groom and exercise rider at a showjumping yard in Normandy, northern France. I'm originally from Cornwall in England but I've been working with horses abroad since I finished university in 2006. I did the Alps, then the Channel Islands, then Italy, then the Algarve in Portugal, and came to France just over a year ago. I have only been involved with horses since 2004 but now they are literally my entire life :)

My wonderful boss gave me the surprise of my life last summer when she bought me a PONY for my birthday - to say I was blown away is an understatement! His name is Anatole Mouse and he's a 12hh palomino gelding, we don't know his breeding but he will be 2 years old in the spring.

I do have another hobby apart from horses - photography! The two interests go side by side, and I have literally thousands of photos and videos from the 6 years I've been working with horses. I also love walks in the countryside and they're particularly fun now I have a young pony to walk with me ;)

Hello!
At the yard we have 14 horses who are a mixture of showjumpers, youngstock, and a handful of boarders. We also have 3 herds of horses living out in the fields, including a couple of broodmares and foals. My boss set up the yard 5 years ago and has only been competing at Professional level for 3 seasons, so it's very much a young business still.
