Does anyone have any experience with Recovery? I have a 13 yr old wb who I'm thinking I should probably start giving something to keep him going. He doesn't have any problems as of yet (knock on wood) but I would like to keep it that way. Wondering if anyone has any other suggestions for the mature dressage horse.

I can't speak to Recovery, however, I used to have my mare (she's 11) on various oral supplements, also 'in case'. We switched her (and my Mom's 25 year old semi-retiree) to monthly shots of Adequan. They are both doing great. What I like about it is that it's proven to be helpful, particularly regarding cartilage repair, and there is always the question of absorption with oral supplements. Now it's not cheap, but it is competitive with oral supplements.

Our two cents!

Recovery is way overpriced. I tried it on my old TB mare and I didn't see any difference. Nowhere on the label or website does it say how much active ingredient (resvertrol) is actually in the container let alone each dose. You will get the results from the MSM which is well researched and you can buy cheaper on its own.

I used Recovery for my Appy with a bad stifle, and my dressage horse who had troubel with his hocks. It is expensive, but I saw drastic improvement. I had used straight MSM, Renewal, and other supplements and didn't get the same effect. It may not work for everyone, but it definitely helped my boys and I would reccomend trying it out!
