Barnmouser Introduction!

I just wanted to say hello to everybody and give you guys a bit of background info on.. me! I'm headed into my 16th year within the equine industry, unfortunately horseless at this time though cry, having to sell my boy of 10 years due to unforeseen events in life. It has been over a year since I became horseless, and I still miss my boy dearly. I have a background in dressage and cutting, but have ventured into other areas of equine disciplines as well (all-around quarter horse events and barrel racing). I have a passion for starting and training horses, and am looking forward to pursuing this passion more in the future, by opening up a training facility that caters to show horses.

I currently hold a certificate in Equine Science (with distinction!) through the University of Guelph, I am finishing my diploma in Equine Studies and plan to continue with their certificate in Equine Business Management. I also get to play (for most of the day) behind the scenes on Barnmice, and I really enjoy it! biggrin I love "everything horse" as my boyfriend says, so am eager to learn from everybody's experiences that have to do with horses!

I am also horseless, I understand the emptiness. I really wanted to do the online courses that Guelph offered, how are they? Thank you for the introduction!

The courses are absolutely fantastic, I'd recommend them to anybody. They are not easy though, you'll be doing a lot of research and writing a lot of papers. I am on my last course of the diploma and it is easier then previous courses I have taken, and we've had 11 people drop out so far. So although I would recommend them to anybody, they aren't for somebody who isn't willing to commit and put the time and effort into it. No regrets on my end, if I felt they weren't quality courses I wouldn't of stuck with it for 4 years aww

Good for you, and thanks for the background Info. I picked up some print on Equine Guelph at the Royal, as well. I'm hoping once I get through college I can apply myself to it, or if I have the funds, do some courses while I'm off for the summer. What a fabulous program.
