Ah me, more specifically, my horses, my favourite topic!

So, Me:  I've been riding for 25 years or so, 20 of that hunter/jumper, the rest trying to learn dressage!  I have a day job, which pays for the kids!

So, the kids:
Maggie - my show horse, she's 9, Canadian warmblood (Holsteiner on top).  Bought her 4 1/2 years ago, knew she had some issues.  She learned she could scare people, and invented the move we call 'The Maggie' which is an inventive buck, leap rear combination which will toss you if you aren't expecting it.  However, she's gorgeous, a sweetie, and she moves like an angel.  She's actually jumper bred and would probably do 1.4m, but she's my dressage horse.  And she's managed to carry me around five times a week.  We've pretty much turned her around at this point, and it's been totally worth it.  I love her.

Havoc - my foal.  He's out of Maggie's half sister, Snip, by a german riding pony.  He should land somewhere in the 16 to 17hh range.  He seems to have everything we wanted, his mom's boldness, his dad's temperament softening his Mom's, his Dad's front end and neck and a cute little head.  He's my pic.  We love him too, even though I was hoping for a filly.

So, the next kids are actually now my Mom's, but, I bought them.
Cass - my old jumper mare.  She's clyde x tb, 16.2hh, and an eccentric.  We showed all over and she was always game.  Get her to a fence, she'll jump it.  No stride to speak of, but a very kind little girl.  At 19, she changed disciplines with me, gave it her best shot.  When I 'accidentally' bought Maggie, she landed a sweet gig, my Mom had just started riding, and I gave her Cass.  She's the perfect walk/trot horse, she'll take care of you if you just let her.

Snip - the co-ordinator of it all.  I decided I wanted to buy a baby, my Mom wanted in on that, so, I went looking.  I went to a breeder and looked at all his stock, very consistent, all by the same stallion off different mares.  And this one little filly kept following me around.  He free jumped Maggie (who was 3), and another mare, gorgeous, so, we bought the filly and she went into my Mom's care.  It's been a long road with her!  She's 17.3hh or thereabouts... She had a bilateral superior check ligament tenotomy as a yearling.  She got backed as a 3 year old.  When it came time to send her to be broke, Maggie needed some remedial work, so, Snip was put on the back burner.  Then, she colicked and went laminitic.  From GP Showjumper prospect to...  Well, she survived, which is a miracle, 23 degree rotation in one foot, 11 in the other.  And we bred her last year.  I gave my half to my Mom for her 60th birthday in September.  As long as she's happy and makes my mom happy, we're good.

So, that's the herd.
