Get up, go to work, go home, go to barn, go home, go to bed, repeat...
I have rather structured my life around my riding habit. I have a very good paying job so I can keep the kids in the style to which they have become accustomed. There is some overtime, but I limit it as much as possible. I'm single, so there's no one bitching at home except the cats (and no bitching about money). I squeeze in 5 rides a week, one night of Pilates, and one night of Yoga, generally. Weekends are for housework and cooking for the following week, unless I'm in Lethbridge seeing the baby boy, then it all goes out the window.
The kids make me happy, so I focus on that. I don't see my non-horsey friends as much as I'd like, but I do schedule them in as often as I can. I simplify my life as much as I can, and then just live it!
I know other people have challenges like spouses, kids and the like, I have no idea how they do it! I have yet to figure out how I'll fit in the little guy and the big girl when they are both in Calgary. Oh, and the second or third job I'm going to need to pay for *that*!
I wake up at 6 every morning to get ready for school, my mom looks after the horses in the morning while I'm at school. I get home at 3:45 everyday, and usually head out to the barn around 4 to start mucking stalls, work with some of the horses, and then i start bringing everyone in and begin feed for the evening. I don't ride after school in the fall/winter because it gets dark so early, so I only ride on the weekends. On top of school and 11 horses I also have 2 puppies, soon to be 3 to look after. I usually see friends on weekends and at school. I'm very busy and have little free time, my life is dedicated to my horses...and I'm only 16, and I run the farm (we breed miniature horses). I also take in rescues now and then, so I'm a busy girl.
Get up, get ready, go to school, do homework, barn for riding & feeding, then shower and bed. On weekends it's: get up, go to work (at a barn), then ride, go home for a bit, then back to work in the afternoon for feeding. Granted, I still have a lot of time for social activities and other things...
I get up at a quarter after four and start chores, ride as soon as it's light and usually end the day between 6 - 7pm, Monday - Thursday. Fridays its the same but I end between 5-6 usually, Saturdays and Sundays I alternate to only riding in the mornings so that I can do things with friends and family and I try to take a day a month off from riding so that if I want to do something completely different I can. My fiance` is very horsey but works crazy hours too. We usually only see each other Friday nights and weekends. It gets crazy during show season, but I usually have a good balance going. So very happy that I grew up in a horse family and am marrying into a horse family....everyone understands. His family even insisted that we plan the wedding around the show season, preferably before or after it started. :)
I feed at 5 am, out for coffee and a butt with friends, then home for chores. Teach or train all day, in between hayloads, laundry loads and truckloads. Husband gets home around 4, coffee with The Man, then night chores, supper around 8. Back out for meetings if, then useless by midnight. Start again at 5 the next day..
Easiest way to describe my life: Day on, we feed at 5. Day off, we feed at 6. Vacation/Holiday, we feed at 7. 7days/week/365. Only get time off if dead.

I work Monday to Friday- though only to 3pm on fridays. I help out on the farm with bring ins as much as I can in the evenings but during the winter its usually done when I get home. During show season we work the pair of ponies 5-6 days a week and I squeeze in the young cob about 4 times a week. I dont usually get into the house until 10pm through the summer...Weekends Im usually up first and start chores by feeding and turning out. I plan my going outs after that. There are usually about 50 ponies/horses on the farm during the summer (though there are only 18 stalls so most live out, but they do get fed!). My fiance is also very horsey (as is his family), so we did plan our wedding around shows for next year :) Its a very busy life, but I wouldnt trade it for anything! I have way too much fun :)
Ladies, you all are incredible! Due to my MS I never had a lot of strength, and as the decades passed I lost my endurance. I just cannot imagine being able to do what you all do every day. WOW.

LOL Justice, we have a couple of stable hands around town that are on call for vacations and stuffmaybe they make out of town visits!
As for my day, I wake up, look at Julius' pictures, go to work, go to the stables, eat, miss Julius, go to bed. If people wanna see me, they come to the stables, the important people know where to find me.
I love it, and wouldn't have it any other way even tho I might crank and whinge from time to time.
Winter chores are tedious by January but overall, it is the life that I have chosen, eyes and heart wide open. More folks should be able to live according to their passions, makes a healthier person.

Whew...I am exhausted just reading some of this! I always feel like I should be fitting more into my day. One of my biggest issues is that it takes me so long to drive to the barn. 45 minutes in light traffic.
I wish I could do something else with those 90 minutes in my day.
I admit, I'm lucky, I'm 15 minutes to work, and 15 minutes to the barn. One of the big things keeping me at the job I've got is the tiny commute and underground parking....
Great dane wakes me up between 7 and 7:30 - get the young son up at 7:30 - make breakfast, coffee and relaxing for an hour after I have fed all the indoor pets - with a coffee and check the forums out. Younger son goes to school - older son gets up and looks after himself - drives to peterborough for University - so don't see him much in the week.
around 8:30 head out to the barn. Feed all the horses - if they were in - clean the barn.
Come back to the house and into my office and work as needed. Lunch and then the afternoon depends on whether it is a busy day or not. Sometimes I ride after lunch, some days I wait until the younger son comes home and we ride together. Dressage Lessons are monday afternoon. Monday night - volleyball. Wednesday the accountant and my office assistant are in the office so I usually work all that day in the office and don't ride that day. If hubby is on afternoons sometimes we do jobs in the morning at the barn. Sometimes take a break and take the dog for a walk if it has been a particularly busy day - just to clear my head.
Weekends - boys have their jumping lesson on saturday afternoon. Then the weekends are filled with various things like taking the dog for a walk, horse shows, hacks.
I am fortunate that my mom lives in the apartment above our garage - and she loves doing house work - so I don't have to do that other than prepare meals.
I try to ride 5 days a week - and spend some time with the babies too.
I have to admit that I am pretty spoiled.
