Hi, ladies!

Since I spend (like Justice) most of my days in either a helmet or a ball cap, I have the "Joan of Arc" do...I have superfine, board straight, thin hair as it is, so it takes a ton of chemical processing to get it to do anything but lie there limply, sort of like lettuce that's a week past its "best before" date.

What I can easily do is experiment with colour, and that at least keeps it somewhat interesting!

Actually, I've been trying for something more like bay, or chestnut!

Honestly, I ran into a woman at a show this spring who has her hair coloured to exactly match her chestnut DWB gelding!

My hair is superfine, long, and thick and can't do anything interesting for too long without cans and cans of industrial hairspray. So my routine is kinda lame, I just brush it or pony tail, or sometimes a "messy" bun. One thing that does help is Infusium 23 (which makes your horse's tail thick and beautiful also) leave in spray, if I don't use it my hair is super staticy, which is only humorous for so long. It also makes it shiny and brushable. I try to keep it low key as well because I'm growing it to donate for cancer patient wigs, so I want to keep it natural and healthy.

Every ten years I have my hair cut and donated (most fortunate and greatful to be blessed with fast growing, thick, straight hair). This year, tho, one of my boarders is sporting a familiarly coloured/textured strawberry blond pixiecut : )

My hair is super fine and falls out if you even think about touching it. My standard 'do is a pony tail as I overheat easily when it's down and it just gets in my way. I agree with Nikki about the Infusium 23. I've used it on multiple horses and it's always been great for them, too.

A side note: I've donated a few times to "Locks of Love", and typically I donate every 3 or 4 years (my hair grows super slow!) It's great to see other people committed to a great cause :)

Hair can be such a challenge!

I'm not at all good at fussing with it. Mine is a combination of coarse and curly underneath and fine and straight on top with the end result being sort of wavy. What I've found works best is a layered cut which I just wash and go - no blow-drying, curling irons, yadda yadda yadda. If the weather is not co-operating (too wet & friz or too dry & limp), I'll just put some light gel on it to help with the wave. It took me a long time to figure out what works best - I need a little height on the top which helps to balance my face structure and then a wedge in the back which helps to balance out my head shape. Did I say it took a long time to find someone who could do this? Then I moved and had to find someone else?

So, my advice is to find a really good cut that works for your face and head shape ... there should be a computer program that would allow you to take a photo and try different cuts to see how they look, don't you think? That's probably the hardest part, figuring out what will work best. Then, of course, there's finding the person who can do it!

When you see someone with a hair style that you really like, ask who cut it. Same with color - good colorists are specialists (and they may not cut hair all that well). Also, maybe just go into the bathroom sometime and take a little time with mirrors set up so you can see all the way around the profile and back, then just start fussing with it, put it up, then down in a ponytail to see what works best with your face shape - like bangs, no bangs. And look at pictures of people/haircuts, particularly of people with the same face shape.

(Then, of course, there's that old thing that everyone else likes your hair style, but you just get sick of it!) Arrrgh!
