Doors don't stand a chance at our Place
Permalink Closed

Between the horses, dog and son doors are always getting broken.

last year we had a horse fly backwards through the east door - couldn't hit the side that was open - no - hit the side that was closed - sent the door flying and ripped the door frame into shreds.

Last week a horse caught it's blanket on the latch - pulled the same door off the frame - husband replaces the frame - two days later - another horse runs into the door and catches her blanket - of course none of the blankets break - door frame cracks again - but we are leaving it for now until it gets hit again- because the door still works - even though it drives my husband nuts that it is broken and he hasn't fixed it.

Then I brought my three year old home from a show - blanket catches on the new (I mean brand new) heavy duty door latch - bends the handle all to he** and barely does any damage to the blanket. So call the supplier and luckily they send me a new handle for free.

Then this morning (after we just replaced the sliders on the bathroom door on the weekend) my great dane - who is attached to me by the hip - decides that he doesn't like me being in the bathroom without him decides to take a running leap at the door - knocks it off the hinges and bends one of the new rollers.

In the summer one son decides to back out the truck out of the garage before it was up and destroyed the bottom panel - that was the most expensive repair.

So for us it is doors - anyone else have something that always gets broken
