As consumers, we have the power to affect change in the way animals destined for food are treated.

Ugghhhh....write letters to local politicians, call their offices....and contact your local humane societies and other animal welfare groups - and protest with your bellies.

Simply don't buy pork from the supermarket or at restaurants.....Easier said than done...I know...while I'm a vegetarian my son and hubby are enthusiastic carnivores.  We are fortunate enough to live in a rural area and able were able to buy a half a pig from a hobby farm - a 'happy' piggy.  We are also raising our own chickens.  'Happy chickens'.    Sometimes it takes some investigation, but there are places that will sell only food that was 'happy'.  That got to live good life....run around and was well treated before it was taken to smaller non-industrial abitoir....

Personally I think people who can torture animals in the way depicted in the film are simply criminal psycopaths...

This is not just related to pork but is related to factory farms - ever wonder why turkey is under a dollar a pound.  If you eat meat support your local farmers and markets.
