True! And she loved to buck, rear and drop to her knees I loved her dearly, and still think about that little mare with a lot of attitude.
The person below me thinks it is replusive when somebody passes gas in public, but that it is totally normal (and amusing at times) when a horse passes gas in public.

Oops, I thought I was replying to the bareback question! Re: the gas - gross when people do it, don't mind when a horse does it, even if I' grooming his hind end at the time!!

Too true!! Just today! I was on my way out with breakfast and lost a boot in the mud. Lost my balance and the grain, too. The horses, once again entertained by the goofball human, were not impressed tho if laughter has an equine voice it would have been in full chorus : )
The person below me handles their own horse at an event (no groom).

True-ish? I've never shown but I've done a few events with 4-H in the past, and I have always done my own grooming/tacking/warming up/etc. Unless you have several horses or important duties (you are on some sort of event panel or something), I really don't see why you wouldn't handle your own ;)
The person below me has jumped in a western saddle. (Ouch...)

False, although I once moved fallen trees with a lasso off a roping saddle (not huge ones like logging), during the ice storm of '98 and a few trees here and there on riding trails.
The person below me plans their day around their horse's turnout routine.

True :) Always have been a morning person, but being up before the sun reminds me of younger days when I could mosey out to the barn and play with my horses before school..
The person below me enjoys having the radio on in the barn.
