Your Dream Farm

What horse person hasn't thought this out in depth? If you had all the money in the world what would your dream farm look like? Would it be private, a training facility, would you board? How many acres? What type of horses? Would it be self care or would you have somebody else doing all the hard labour?

I personally, would keep things simple. Property no bigger than 25 acres (with 10 of those acres being brush/forest for riding in). My small, cottage-like house would sit on about half an acre, and the other 14.5 acres would be for the ponies. I'd have a 6 or maybe 10 stall barn with roomy stalls and a tack and feed room. Hay would be kept in a seperate building. An indoor would be nice too, but nothing too huge - 60 x 100 would do me.

I'd have one nice riding horse for myself, maybe one or two boarders, and the rest would all be pasture puffs. Horses would live out, but they'd all have stalls for the really terrible days.

So what would your dream farm look like? Feel free to get into the little details too - if you wanted heated water buckets in every stall, a cobblestone courtyard, or even a sexy stablehand to do the chores for you, I want to hear about it!

Ok, with ALL the money in the world, this is what I would have:

The Home:

A beautiful home on 50 acres. A pool and tennis courts (for my family who don't ride). A great place to sit outside and eat and read.

The Property:

Lots of paddocks so everyone could be out all day. A dressage ring, a jumping ring, a lunging ring, and lots of hacking through wooded trails and around our hayfield (yes, we would grow our own!). Of course, a large heated arena with a gorgeous viewing room and a washroom.

The Barn:

A barn for 10 horses, with bars between the stalls and the ability to open half doors for the horses to look outside. even more amazing would be stalls with walk-outs to individual mini-paddocks like those I've seen in Florida.
Two heated wash stalls, plenty of storage space, a laundry room and a kitchen lounge.

Now that will only cost me a few million!!
