Food items and bored horses?

Study proves food-related items most successful with bored horses

I thought this article was kind of interesting, though not really surprising. I think we can all attest to how much a horse will do for food!

What do you do to keep your busy-mouthed horses occupied?

I agree.  My horses would take an hour or so each emptying a hay net, a small whisp for each mouthful.  They never looked bored when eating!

Agree: not surprising..I don't know, maybe cos they are designed to be digesting something 18-20 hours a day?....

side note: We have figured out how to compensate (hard feeds/grain) for the amount of graze time we fill with work but not the physiolgical effects. We have also created greater ranges of colic, laminitis, metabolic issues and vices along with the equally hazardous longterm effects of our "cures" *I* believe by interfering with the natural working systems within the horse. The human is still trying to make the horse something he is not and the horse continues to try to keep up : )
