Just wanted to wish all horses and jockeys running in the Kentucky Derby this afternoon a speedy safe trip around the race course aww

As they head to the post, I have to say, I'd love to be one of the riders on the pony horses. Am I the only one who thinks that would be so uber cool?!?!

It makes you wonder sometimes (seeing that Velazquez was in the irons for Animal Kingdom, but was supposed to be on board Uncle Mo) if there are a lot of horses who could be a lot better if they had better jockeys. Mo is a wonderful representation of the Thoroughbred racehorse, and clearly Animal Kingdom is as well, but there's a common denominator to their greatness... The same could be said for Calvin Borel..

Just a thought :) Congrats to John and Animal Kingdom, as well as Plum Pretty for the Oaks!
