I read this and now I feel sick

I was following an article about a trainer who is teaching elephant handlers to use horse training techniques to train elephants, rather than using fear and pain.

I ended up on this site for helping elephants, read one story about one of the baby elephants and now I feel sick with horror and sadness.

Why, oh why, do people treat animals with such cruelty?

Is it ignorance?Desperation?

That made me so sick -
The answer is simple - they do it because they can. Humans IN GENERAL are the most vicious, cruel, useless species on the planet. And when I read or see things like this - (have already read about the treatment of circus elephants here in N.A.) - I am sorry I was born human...I feel helpless - and so heartsick and sad because ...well

sometimes - it's hard to remember sometimes - but there is also the flip side ...and ...


just trying to do our best for our little part of the world - the animals around us...- the people around us...- the environment that's all we can do....

I get myself so worked up about the elephants, the sharks, the bears, whales, snakes...- it's easy to just get overwhelmed...and just want to crumble...but that's not an option either...i just try to help what I can...do what I can in my corner...as so many others do.....

it's good to see people who can trying to help and change things for those poor elephants...

quite simple actually
a human who abuses an animal usually has been abused by family members, etc.
that does not speak well for our 'civilization' since animal and human abuse are rampant.
