What do you guys think is the best thing to eat before you ride? Or what do you usually eat before you ride? Anythingin particular that gives you a little extra energy?
I'm not sure if this would be the best for everyone, but I like to eat very lightly before I ride - a banana, an orange or another piece of fruit. Then, after my ride, I am always STARVING! That's when I really have to be careful not to reach for junk food.
I always try to bring a lot of healthy food with me to the barn. Otherwise, it's Timbits, or whatever junk food happens to be in the tackroom!
I like to eat light, so either small portions, or salads or something. Same thing before an exercise. Then when I get home after I ride, I eat something else, like toast or a grilled cheese, or leftovers.
