I was just wondering how important arena footing is to everybody? To me, it is everything! It directly relates to the health, safety and performance of your horse. I was reading about the problems they're having at Greenwich with the footing for the upcoming Olympics (Olympic organisers looking into concerns over "dead" equestrian surface). Why can't they use a footing that has been tried, tested and loved already?

I think its really important! We have hogfuel for our outdoor, but it kinda sucks to ride on in the winter, partly because our ring has some drainage issues that are being worked on. But if I had my choice we'd have that nikey rubber/sand footing, at least for our indoor.
