Hey everybody,

I've been wearing the same pair of Laredos for ages, they're still holding up but could be retired while they still have some dignity left aww What are you all wearing to ride in? I have a bit of a wide foot, so I lean towards a rounded or square toe vs. a pointy toe. What pair of boots are you currently loving so I can check them out!

I am rough on boots- I'm in them from the time I get up til I come in for dinner 6 days a week (don't normally wear them to church on Sundays;) ).  They have to withstand cleaning stalls, bathing horses, and fixing fence in addition to riding.

I started out with Ariat Terrains- comfy but never had a pair last me close to a year, three pair total.   Next I had Tony Lamas, liked them far better than the Ariats but still didn't last  year.  Currently loving Twisted X boots, got my first pair almost two years ago and they're still going strong.  Found an amazing deal, so I bought myself another pair for showing.  I'll be sticking with Twisted X for a while- they still have several other designs I love...

The Tony Lama's I had

RR2003L Tony Lama Women's Western Boots

My first Twisted X's (a year into wear, and me making a rare English appearance)  The stitching is green vine with varying pink buds- still cleans up well when I scrub them;)

My show boots (sorry 'bout the size)

Hi Tuckermmr, where did you get your Twisted X boots? I've had 0 luck with the few pairs of Justin boots that I did try, but that was 10+ years ago -- the one pair was toast after 3 weeks, the other pair lasted almost a year. Although I do like the looks of their newer boots, they must think I'm mad at the tack shop because I'll try a pair on at least three times and then put them back because I'm so picky about how the boots fit! aww

Just wrote out an answer in the quick reply, but got the mesage that it was flagged as spam and had to be approved by an admin, if it doesn't post by tomorrow evening I'll give it another shot or send you a message.

So here's another try... I got mine from sierratradingpost.com- great deals, but they don't always have them in stock as they get overstock things.  If you go to the Twisted X site, I know they have a list of other online dealers or a google search for twisted x boots usually turns up a good list of sites as well if you want to go that way.

Thanks Tuckermmr for the lead, I'll check and see if they have a supplier in my area. After a broken foot, I need to try boots on in person to get a good fit -- I'll see what I can find! aww

I've got two friends that wear Twisted X boots- I tried their's on.  One is half a size small, the other just right;)  They seem to be true to size to me- if you can't find a dealer to visit in person, maybe you can find a site with a good return policy to try from.  Order your average size- if they don't fit it should be close enough that you can figure out if you need to go up or down 1/2 a size or so.  I can check what size my Tony lamas are(and maybe the ariats if I still have a pair laying around) and tell you how they line up if that would help any.
