Depending on your setup for him, night time turn out, day time shade,( or a fly mask with brim (?, which wouldn't help his nose area if it's pink), might make a difference over his lifetime of other  cancer spots popping up. Also some skin cancers grow, and cause a cosmetic problem, but aren't life threatening, maybe your vet can give you an idea of what type his are. Vigilance is your best defence.

Mask and sunscreen seem good. What does the vet say?
Sometimes people have skin cancers frozen off and it does seem to work well.
