Any ideas for how to get rid of moths from INSIDE my house? :(
Permalink Closed

Ever since I had a party a few weeks ago, I have had moths flying around my house! I have never had this before! I wonder if someone brought them in somehow? Anyway every night at 9 p.m. new moths appear.

Any ideas on how to get rid of them without spraying my house?

Thanks!

I'm not exactly sure what you should do, but I have heard that lavender repels moths off of clothing, maybe you could light a lavender candle in the evening?

I think cloves, rosemary, ginger and something else.. maybe thyme? Also repels them, what about possibily leaving some around the house?

Hopefully somebody has a tested method that worked to share!

I'm not sure how this idea would work, depending on how many moths you have. But most are attracted to light. If all your indoor lights are off, and you look at your windows or screens in the time before sundown, (or possibly just after sunrise?), they are attracted to the light. Then you get to smack em with your fly swatter. If you are Buddhist, this method is not for you, open the window and hope they leave. Good luck.

I have more experience with fruitflies, if you need tips for them......

Great ideas guys! We have been systematically wacking them, which seems to have worked for now. I hate to kill even a bug, but it got to the point where I didn't see a choice.
