Once he is really confirmed, I'll have a go at them. I've never trained them in my life and I don't have the timing to do more than four or five at this point. The one-time changes have always been my biggest challenge, but I'm sure that with Bee's help and a horse who will know more than I do, I'll figure it out.
Anyone else have major challenges they are working on?
I'm still working on my horse's changes. I did all the prep work and then on a good day gave it a go. We got a couple of very nice changes and quite a few very ugly ones. But I was impressed that my horse even tried. Now the challenge is to get him to forget about it! He actually seemed to quite enjoy it and now every time we canter he thinks we're going to work on changes so I keep him in counter-canter until he forgets about it. I have to say though, when we do work on them, his canter is fantastic. And his trot work is really relaxed afterwards and I can sit his trot easily which is a rare thing for us as he has a very bouncy trot.
I can only dream of the day when he can do tempi changes!
