Riderless Cow Horses?!
Permalink Closed

Has anyone seen the video going around of the cow horse working a flag (fake cow) WITHOUT a rider?! Incredible! I shared a video with my (learning to be a horse person) husband of Kit Kat Sugar, the 2012 NCHA Horse of the Year, and he thought the fact that the rider couldn't/didn't assist the horse in the portionof actually working the cow to be fascinating. I think we have a future cutting rider on our hands! The video is posted here on Barnmice, I think on the front page still. Anyone else think it is incredible what natural cow-sense these horses have?!

I did notice that the horse was not giving the dummy steer "the eye". It figures, a horse with cow sense would know when the "cow" wasn't really real. Very impressive, I really enjoyed watching the video.

I agree, Jackie. He did seem to know the cow was obviously fake, and I think that makes it even more incredible. It is pretty awesome to me what "sense" these animals have in them, even compared to other horses.
